What a super day this turned out to be, with bright sunshine, lovely conditions and all in the middle of January. Having met up with Andy and Ann, in their new van, on the Friday, Andy and I set off from Porth Dafarch, on Saturday morning, with the plan of paddling to Rhoscolyn and back. There was a fair swell coming in, but this was due to diminish throughout the day. With the low bright sun, the views were incredible. Both Andy and I hadn't been out on the sea for some time. But we were soon back into it. Time passed so very quickly, we were at the Beacon. I've paddled this section of coast so many times, it always amazes me there is always something to see on the different states of the tide. Whether it is the wildlife, or even just the geology. Today, it was the super low sun light that really brought out the rock formations, with some rocks you have paddled past many times, suddenly showing themselves. Stopping on the way back for a spot of lunch at Porth Diana, I popped the drone up into the skies for some shots and video. Before long, and all too soon we were back at Porth Dafarch, with a Peregrine Falcon sat on the cliff top waiting to welcome us back. Brilliant paddle with super company. Thanks Andy.
