Mull: Loch Scridain Evening Paddle with Russ

Russ was keen for another paddle the following evening. I nearly said no, but I was so glad I didn't!

This evening we decided to head around Loch Scridain in a different direction. It was a gorgeous evening. The ever present wind was still blowing though, creating a choppy swell with hard going into the wind.

When we reached the far side of the loch we were happily chatting along when suddenly I hit was felt like glue and was abruptly brought a halt. I had paddled into a Moon Jellyfish bloom. There were thousands of Moon Jellyfish, so many that some were almost lifted out of the water, by there being so many. I have never seen so many Jellyfish. We obviously stopped and took photos before making our crossing back to the campsite.

Halfway across the Loch, Russ suddenly said he thought he'd seen something up ahead. Suddenly there was a blow of water spray shooting up into the air. But as hard as we looked we couldn't see any fins. It had to have been a whale, but who knows...
